September 4th marks 4 years together!
In Korea they have tons of these bars/cafes where you go and get your own private area separated by a curtain. We have been wanting to check these places out as they are so "Korean", so we did a little bar/cafe hopping! The first place we stopped in was a little dingy with purple suede sofas.
Here is our second stop! Each one had a unique style.
Here we had offerings from the United Mexican States and from the USA with a backwards flag. We just thought this was awesome!
Two of our favs, Hoegaarden and Sunchips. In Korea when you order a beverage they always provide you with a refillable snack. To end our day we ate a delicious meal at ICI Steak House, which took us over an hour to find. We ended up having to go to the PC room to look at the directions again. We shared a steak and mashed potatoes and lasagna. I just could not decide which one to get so we ordered both and shared!
Sunday we had an all day bowling adventure. We were getting a little antsy in the Dadaepo apartment so we set out to find a bowling alley. One thing we have learned is you should never rely on the internet for directions in Korea. One because there are not proper street names or at least there are not any street signs and two every street and landmark pretty much looks the same. "Oh it is on that street that looks like all the other streets!" As we were wondering around Hadan in search of the first bowling alley a friendly man that worked at the convenience came out and asked us if we needed some help. Turns out he spoke perfect English and could recite The declaration of Independence, The Gettysburg Address and President Nixon's Resignation speech. He recited parts of each for us just to prove he could. He kept saying "I love English".
We ended up spending half the day trying to find a bowling alley when there was one less than a mile from us. We actually did know that but we were trying to find a hipper one. But that is what we get for judging a bowling alley by it's exterior.
Enjoy your life!
