I have a feeling this year I will have an influx of illnesses, mainly the common cold! Every student at my school is sneezing, coughing and sniffling. I have been doing the same for the past two weeks. Each night when I come home I feel fatigued and ready for bed. I was thinking, WOW teaching is really exhausting which it is. You have to be "on" all day, full of energy and having fun. If you are not having fun how can you expect your students to have fun?
Today I decided that I needed to go to the doctor when I developed a shooting pain from my nose to my upper jaw. It has gotten to the point it hurts just to open my mouth! I asked my co-teacher about going to the doctor office and she assured me I needed to go to the hospital. I was thinking the hospital my condition is definitely not that bad. I discovered after she dropped me off at the "hospital" that it is a doctor’s office, a small clinic not a hospital. She told be before I got out of the car, “If the doctor does not understand your words, I will take you back tomorrow”. I was able to get in to see Dr. Anh in a matter of minutes by showing my National Health Card. He gave me a through examination that included 5 minutes of sitting over this vaporizing machines and I had a prescriptions for some unknown meds and I was out the door paying $3,000 won which is equivalent to $2.60. Basically, I have a sinus infection. I ran down to the pharmacy and had my meds filled, showing that same card for 2,600 won which is about $2.oo. The doctor spoke perfect English, as did the pharmacist, which made life much better. I take these pills 3x a day for the next 3 days and I should be all-better!
