This weekend we were pretty stoked to just chill in Dadaepo Beach and not have to take hour’s worth of public transportation to get to our destination, although we did venture over to Costco on Sunday (90 mins- Bus to subway and then taxi from subway to Costco, taxi back to subway, subway to bus, although we took a taxi from there) Costco was a great experience. The best part was they had the same food court as back home! That was our first stop, I had a huge piece of pizza! The subway was not too fun with our backpacks stuffed and each carrying a box of food. We got some strange looks but it was worth it as now our cupboards are stuffed and we have chips and salsa to snack on. Oh and can't forget the 2 pound bag of Robin eggs.
My parfait! Strange combination of lime soda, canned fruit, ritz crackers and cornflakes. This was not what the picture looked like but surprising it was pretty tasty! Well, lets just say I did not have a problem taking it down!
Tis' the season for Robin Eggs!
Our Costco adventure- waiting for the subway!
We also enjoyed the 40th Busan International Kite Festival as it was held right across the street at Dadaepo Beach. Justin and I wondered over just in time to enter a kite competition. Basically, they gathered all the foreigners and gave us all a kite and whomever’s kite got the highest the fastest won. My kite unfortunately went flying off, as it was not tied properly to the spindle. I also was interviewed for the second time by KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) regarding my thoughts on the traditional Korean kite and why I decided to attend the festival. I not sure why I am a candidate for interviewing but again I tried to be as enthusiastic as possible. I never did see the interview on KBS. We were also able to watch some kite fighting.
Yummy, Yummy! This was one of those, point at the other table orders as the menu was in all Korean!
Lunch break! Pork bone and potato soup! It was delicious!
Preparing for the fight!
Korean Kite Fighters! I love the old school suitcases they carry their kites in.
Tangled mess!
