Within the first week of living in Busan, Justin discovered this Korean BBQ restaurant down the street from us. Each time we passed by on the bus this place was packed so we assumed it was tasty and tasty it is! The first time we went we had no idea what to get as the menu is all in Korean. We ended up getting some pork belly. It was then we noticed the girls next to us eating these juicy looking ribs. Sure enough we were back a few days later to try the ribs and they were so good but SUPER spicy. A little too spicy for us foreigners but they were so good we could not stop eating them. We have been back at least 10 times now and have been able to communicate with them to take it easy on the spicy sauce. We ate here last night and it turns out the waitress speaks English but I think she has been too nervous to try it out with us but last night she did and let me tell you, it makes things much easier! We have also made it a habit to stop by Baskin Robbins on the way home. Initially, we needed some mint ice cream to cool our hot mouths after these ribs but now it is just a routine we became accustom to! :)
This is a great spot in the summer because it is one of the few places were you can eat outside. Most Koreans are terrified of the sun so there are not too many patios around!
Hot coals!
They give you a white glove to protect your hand from the heat and a plastic glove to go over it to keep it clean. It is a great system!
This is my favorite banchan (side dish). The egg comes out boiling in water with onions and salt. It has great flavor.
