On Thanksgiving day we had to make due with our inflatable turkey, courtesy of Char. Justin took it to school and played some games with his students and it was a real hit!
Saturday we got together with some friends at "Sharky's" for a late Thanksgiving feast. The wait was well worth it. Actually, on the way there I was thinking to myself "turkey does not sound all that good, what I could really go for is some pizza". But once the turkey hit my mouth, it was heavenly. What was even better was the ranch dressing. I have been deprived of ranch for 10 month! (As a present, Elissa slipped the ranch bottle in her purse as a little gift to me. I now have a bottle in my fridge!)
Wow, it was a huge bird! It fed all 8 of us and Chris packed up 3 take out boxes!
The turkey carver!
Our turkey gang!
My plate- mashed potatoes, green beans, turkey, stuffing, salad and a roll! I passed my cranberries off to Justin. We had apple and pumpkin pie for dessert! YUM, YUM!
Gavin and Sumi
Sumi's first taste of turkey!
Elissa and Chris!
Gavin dug around until he found the wish bone. We let Sumi (from Korea) and Tom (from the UK) make a wish and break the wish bone since this was there first Thanksgiving! Tom got the bigger piece!
Packing up the left overs!
It was not the same as being at home but we made due and had a really great time together. It was fun celebrating with friends from all over the world! We have so much to be thankful for!
And I see that you even had chairs to sit on! I'm glad that you had such a nice celebration. But, we sure missed you guys here!
