Today we took the bus over to Goodwill and scored a decorated Christmas tree for 15,000 won. It even came with some jazzy twinkle lights. The best part was bringing the tree on the bus. The bus was so packed but we figured it would be easier than trying to put the tree in a cab without losing the decorations. We got lots of looks and remarks from kids like "oh Christmas tree", "cute-uh".
Giving the tree an overhaul. They had this cute old man at the goodwill decorating these trees but it needed a bit of work.
Taking all the pink and gold garland off! In my opinion, pink and Christmas just don't go together. Although, I did toss the pink garland up in the bathroom to match our pink tub, toilet, sink and tile.
The final product! I am so happy we have a tree, it really makes the apartment feel so homey and is getting me in the spirit. Christmas is not a big deal in Korea, some celebrate but they don't do anything big. Without the tree I felt like Christmas would have just come and gone without noticing really. There is not all the hype like back home.
