Potluck and Jake and the Slut

A few weeks ago our friend Kiva had a potluck/game night at her apartment. She lives in a studio but we all managed to squeeze in. It was a bit difficult to figure out what to bring since our options are so limited with over an hour commute and no dishes that are travel friendly. We ended up bringing cheese and crackers but others got a little more creative. Kiva even made a peach cobbler in her rice cooker. Who knew?? I guess there are tons of recipes you can do in a rice cooker. We however don't have a rice cooker, it is in our contract that we should but we just have never felt like we need one. Rice once a day at school is enough for me. When I mention this to my co-teachers their jaws about hit the ground "you don't have a rice cooker, how do you survive!"

Jake and the Slut had their first show at The Basement, so we headed over there after the potluck. Here is the story about their band name. Well Jake is the singer and that is actually his name but the slut is actually named Michael.

It all started with a hamburger.

"Thursday Party" Pub and Grill near Kyoungsung University in Busan, South Korea, makes a burger so sloppy and disheveled, it could only be described in one way:

"Now that's a slutty burger."

What is funny about this is Justin is the one who described this burger that night at Thursday party and it has been a joke ever since. Who knows, maybe they will make it "big"!
