Korean Gym

Now that it is getting darker much earlier and chilly in the evenings we have decided to join the gym again. We discovered a new gym closer to our apartment, it is less than a 5 min walk, so now there is no excuse! When we went to check it out they were so friendly and welcoming, in fact they assumed the sale and before you knew it we were members! Funny how those things work! It is much cheaper than our old gym, we only paid 70,000 won for 3 months were as at our old gym we paid 120,000 for 3 months.

We have made friends with the trainer there. He is a younger guy and really eager to help. It has been really good for me because he ensures you have proper form which is key for weight lifting. His English is lacking but he loves to try and make conversation with us. He will walk us to me and say something like "Do you like basketball?" and then walk away. Then a few mins later come back and say "Do you like coffee?, I like coffee". It was so funny because the first day we skipped the gym we received a text message "come to gym". Then the next day literally as I was putting on my shoes we received another text "visit your athletic club please". We thought for sure it was the trainer messaging us, but when we walked in the gym the lady at front desk had her phone out. Justin said to her "we got your text message" and she just started laughing. She is just the sweetest thing and always greets us with a warm welcome.

A few days ago, I was lifting weights and she came and grabbed my arm and pulled me to her desk and got out her purse while saying "present, present". As a gift she gave me a handmade paper box she made. I thought that was so sweet!
